Vega C-50 1938
This Vega model C-50 was offered as the lowest priced 16” archtop in the Vega catalog up until a transition to larger bodied instruments in 1938-39. This model has a carved spruce top, solid mahogany sides and a pressed laminated mahogany back. The interesting fretboard has a strip of rosewood sandwiched between two sides of ebony. The quality offered by the 30’s Vega of Boston instruments appears underrated today.
