Levin Solist 1957
Levin Solist 1957: built by the A.B. Herman Carlson Levin group in Goteborg, Sweden. These were the Levin equivalents of the Gibson L-5: 2nd to the top-of-the-line. Tight grained quilted maple back and sides and Euro spruce top. The lower bout is approximately 17" and the recurve very pronounced. Serial numbers are located on the top edge of the headstocks and are often very difficult to read.
The tuners are not original - they are early Grovers. Levin tuners are shown on the Levin DeLuxe page.
The 'Microfone' pickup was roughly added at some point and was not a factory option.
