Gretsch 6119, 1959 - This is similar to the instrument Chet Atkins is playing on the cover of his 1959 album: Workshop. The instrument design was a collaboration between Gretsch's Webster and Atkins to be a more affordable version of the 6120. The single Filtertron pickup in the bridge position may seem a bit odd at first but makes sense when you consider that it would be in the way of Chet's thumbpick if it was in the neck position.

For 1959 and 1960 Gretsch basically issued an Anniversary model with the one pickup in the bridge position and gave the line it's own colors and designation: 6119 (almost a 6120...).
