Gibson L-5 1952, all original except for the missing pickguard. The plastic used on the pickguards in 1952 has proven to be unstable. It was fortunately removed from this instrument before doing damage. The weight of the L-5 tailpiece is heavy to counteract the weight of the waffle-back tuners that are drilled and cast brass. The result is a remarkably balanced instrument.
