Gibson L-4 1951
The Gibson L-4 retained the 16” body shape acquired in the 1920's, and a simple elegance in appearance. This example is typical of the model. The bound fretboard began in 1930 and the neck, headstock design and parallelogram inlays resembled the L-7 and many other models of the day. The pickguard support is basic bent metal. The tops were double bound and the backs single bound. The "F" holes are edged in black paint.
