Gibson J-45 Custom Vine

The Gibson J-45 was introduced in 1942. Numerous custom versions have been produced over the years.

The 'Vine of Life' inlay pattern (in many refinements) has a long tradition extending back into the 1700's. There is something artistically appropriate about integrating music, hand-craft and natural materials. It is a living entity. The 'Vine of Life' fretboard motif was common on early banjos as well.
