Gibson J-160E

Introduced 1954, discontinued in 1978, reintroduced in the 1991 and still produced today.

In order to accommodate the single coil pickup at the base of the fretboard, the neck-body joint occurs at the 15th fret - unusual for any instrument. Though most of the 1960's versions of this instrument were plywood, the current versions are solid wood.
