Epiphone Olympic
Introduced in 1931 and discontinued by 1949.
Body sizes varied - they grew over the years:
1932: 13"
1934: 13 5/8"
1935: 14 1/2"
1936: 15 1/4"
The example shown is all original less the pickguard. Epihone appears to have varied their model finishes: changing from a golden brown with a shaded top in 1932 to a brown finish with sunburst in 1935.
The pickguard is missing from this example but should have been the small black type.
The F holes are cello style though some records say that they appear non-segmented to "F" style in 1939.
The neck is one piece mahogany, the sides are solid mahogany but the back is plywood mahogany - pressed to shape.
