Circa 1934 Bacon & Day Senorita Troubadour
This Senorita Troubadour archtop is a mid-priced example from the Bacon catalog of the middle 1930's. It shares the 16" body width and 5" depth of the Ne Plus Ultra Troubadour (also shown in this museum gallery). The engraved celluloid decorated headstock lacks the fancy coloration and rhinestones of the Ne Plus Ultra.
This model has a solid spruce carved arched top and was available in either rosewood and mahogany. This instrument uses Indian rosewood for the back and sides. The back is flat and braced unlike the more expensive models with arched backs.
